Harmony Baptist Church 2011 - 2012 Committees

This year a rotating system was implemented.  Most committee assignments will have a duration period of three years.  For the system to function effectively and to begin the process, each committee member was given a certain number of years (from 1 to 3) to serve.  For example, if the committee has six members, one third of the team would rotate off each year.  Of course, some committees have more than six members and some fewer, which factor in to the Nominating Committee's work.  Also, a current member can be re-nominated after serving their term without any waiting period.

Standing Committees are those that are deemed necessary by the Nominating Committee for the church to do its work.  They will operate on a rotation system.  Permanent Committees are those that require a certain amount of expertise and regular training.  Each member serves until removed by the Nominating Committee or retirement by the specific member.

We're making it easier.  Our new up-to-date calendar will now have all events right at your finger tips.  Still think you'll have trouble remembering to check the website?  No problem, you can now have your personal calendar automatically update with church events.  We're using a Google calendar which is compatible with other Google calendars, iCalendar (iPhone & Mac), Outlook 2007, Thunderbird, and more.  Check back here for a collection of instructions on how to add the calendar to your every day use! Below is  a copy of the picture that was presented in Church at Homecoming.  It is of the original church building that Ms. Eula Mae painted. Several people have asked about purchasing a copy. Kirstin Smith had a great idea and with using her photography equipment, took an excellent photo of the painting.  She has ordered copies that can be bought with all proceeds going to the building fund.
